Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school community.
Arbor School is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, families and visitors.
All staff are required to understand and follow Arbor School’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures. Safeguarding responsibilities are supported by staff training, clear reporting procedures, early intervention and appropriate record keeping.
Safeguarding at Arbor
Safeguarding refers to the actions taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
Everyone who works in or visits our school has a responsibility to support the safety and welfare of our students. Any concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing should be reported promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or a member of the Designated Safeguarding Team.
Safeguarding includes:
- Protecting children from abuse, neglect and other forms of harm
- Supporting children’s health, development and wellbeing
- Providing a safe environment in which children can learn and develop
- Identifying concerns and taking appropriate action
- Working together to promote the best outcomes for children
Children may be at risk of harm regardless of their age, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability or background. Concerns should always be taken seriously and reported through the appropriate safeguarding procedures.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead at the Arbor School is: Mr Ashley Robbins
The DSL has lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, including online safety, and provides advice and support to staff on child welfare and child protection matters.

Safeguarding Responsibilities
Keeping children safe is the responsibility of the whole school community.
Staff, parents, carers and visitors should report any concern about the safety or welfare of a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Designated Safeguarding Team. This includes concerns relating to actual or suspected abuse or neglect.
Our safeguarding procedures set out how concerns are identified, recorded, reported and responded to.

Safeguarding information and guidance for parents and carers is shared throughout the school year.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child, please contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead or a member of the Designated Safeguarding Team.
For other questions relating to your child’s welfare or school experience, families can contact their child’s teacher or an appropriate member of the school leadership team.

UAE Child Protection
Arbor School follows applicable UAE child-protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
Our safeguarding procedures should be read alongside the relevant UAE child-protection framework, including Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 concerning Child Rights (Wadeema’s Law) and applicable guidance and requirements issued by the relevant UAE authorities.
